Welcome to the WCG Connect TV FAQ. Here you will find quick answers to the most common questions about using the service, getting set up, and making the most of its features. General Information
What is WCG Connect TV?
WCG Connect TV is our new enhanced TV experience, combining live TV, streaming apps, recordings, and more into a single, intuitive platform. With smart features, refreshed channels and packages, and a sleek interface, it’s built to match how you watch TV today.
What is IPTV, and how is it different from traditional cable?
IPTV delivers television content over your internet connection, rather than traditional cable lines. This allows for greater flexibility, smarter features like voice search and cloud DVR, and the ability to watch across multiple devices.
Are there different package options?
Yes. We offer a vast channel lineup and flexible packages including add-ons for sports, movies, international content, and more. While WCG Connect TV offers a streaming experience, a member must also select their desired TV package and channels. Visit our TV Packages page to explore our options.
Is WCG Connect TV included with my internet?
WCG Connect TV is a separate service that requires an active WCG Connect Internet plan. Bundle pricing is available; please ask our team for more details at 204.725.4300 (Toll-Free: 1-800-665-3337).
What’s happening to InfiniTV?
InfiniTV is being phased out and replaced with the new WCG Connect TV service. Existing customers will continue using their current WCG set top box (EVO Pro 4K or Amino Amigo 7), and will access the WCG Connect TV experience through the updated app. The new WCG Connect TV app will be automatically installed on a scheduled date. Your box and remote will stay the same, but you will notice the new WCG Connect TV look, features, and menu when you turn on your TV. If you are interested in upgrading to new equipment, please contact our Customer Service.

TiVo+ (and Plex) provides access to hundreds of free streaming channels, which appear directly in your TV guide. You can browse movies, TV shows, news, sports, and kids' programming without downloading extra apps or paying extra fees. Recording:
Does WCG Connect TV have DVR?
Yes! You can record individual episodes or entire series with your Cloud DVR and access them from any device. Learn more about setting up your DVR and recordings HERE.
How much can I record?
Will I lose my recordings if I change my TV package?
In most cases, no. If you remove a channel from your package, you will still be able to watch any recordings from that channel, except for HBO. Due to content rights, HBO recordings are removed when your HBO subscription ends. Any future scheduled recordings on channels you no longer subscribe to will be cancelled.
How long are recordings saved?
Recordings are stored up to one year, or until you delete them. If your DVR reaches its limit, the oldest content will be automatically removed.
Why did I lose all my recordings from InfiniTV?
With the upgrade to WCG Connect TV, recordings from InfiniTV did not transfer over. Existing customers were notified in advance of the upgrade so they could view their saved content before the change. Going forward, you can use Cloud DVR with Connect TV to record and access your shows anytime.
App and Streaming Behaviour:
Will the WCG Connect TV app turn off on its own if I fall asleep?
Yes. If there is no activity for 4 hours, the app will prompt you to confirm if you are still watching. If there is no response after 5 minutes, the app will automatically close.
Is there a delay between live TV and streaming in the app?
Yes, a slight delay is normal due to video processing and device response time. The delay can vary depending on the platform and network conditions.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Since WCG Connect TV runs on internet, your TV service will be interrupted during an outage. Recordings will remain safe in your Cloud DVR and can be watched once service is restored.
