WCGtv community programming is a cornerstone of the television service provided to our customers. In 20 of our communities, our valued volunteers and staff work hard to provide important, relevant and sometimes live programming that reflects the people in our communities. This year we provided over 4,700 hours of original programming, over 24,500 total hours of aired programming and over 12,500 public service announcements. Over 620 hours of production was broadcast from WCGtv, using nearly 150 productions from our mobile units. As in previous years many varied and interesting programs were provided by staff and volunteers.
They include:
- Live Westman Super-League curling
- City Council and School Division meetings
- Daily CKLQ feedback show
- Brandon University sports and music programs.
In the future we will be able to do more regional programming for our customers. This year, as in previous years, WCGtv volunteers and staff worked closely with ACC Media Production students in producing many hours of community programming.
